The association will be on holiday from December 5th to 6th. National University of TainanThe 2025 Taiwan Society for Educational Communication and Technology Annual Meeting and International Academic Symposium on Advanced Education Forum will be held in grand style. The theme of this symposium is "Advancing Technology for Sustainable Learning Futures". Continuing the spirit of last year's "New Vision for Educational Technology in the AI Smart Era", the symposium will further focus on the vision of sustainable learning and comprehensively explore the role and impact of educational technology in rapid changes and cross-domain integration. The topics discussed will cover a variety of aspects such as teaching innovation, curriculum design, technology assessment, teacher professional development, and education policy, promoting in-depth exchanges between academia and practitioners and jointly outlining the blueprint for future education.
The symposium was opened by President Hui-Ping Chen of National Tainan University, Chairperson Meng-Ping Tsui of the Taiwan Association for Educational Communication and Technology, and the three keynote speakers: Professor Cheng-Hsuan Lee, Distinguished Chair Professor at National Taichung University of Education, Prof. Noyuri Mima, Future University Hakodate, Dept. Chair & Prof. Wei-Chen Hung, Northern Illinois University, and professors from the Department of Educational Technology, Research and Assessment at Northern Illinois University. The three speakers shared their insights on: "When Students Meet AI Learning Partners: From e-Reading Companion to the 'AI Education × Educational AI' Blueprint for the Next Four Years," "Designing Learning Environments for Equity and Empathy: Humane Approaches to Educational Technology," and "Beyond the Answer: Transforming Teacher Mindsets for Thinking, Ownership, and Meaningful Learning in the Age of..." The conference focused on important educational trends such as "AI". During the conference, Cheng Hsin-hui, Director of the Education Bureau of Tainan City Government and retired professor of the Department of Education of National Tainan University, gave a keynote speech that started from the policy level and shared the achievements of promoting digital education. The two-day thematic discussion covered a wide range of aspects, including the education field, education research and education policy, which sparked a heated discussion among the participants.
At this annual meeting, the conference also held a "Professor Zhang Xiaoting Memorial Forum" to commemorate the outstanding contributions of Professor Zhang Xiaoting, the founding chairman of the association and the father of audiovisual education in Taiwan, to the development of education communication and technology in Taiwan. In line with the theme of this conference, the future of education communication and technology may evolve into more diverse and different forms or names, but we should learn from Professor Zhang's lifelong learning and keeping up with the times.
The two-day symposium, in addition to keynote speeches and forums, also included paper presentations and showcases of lesson plans and media works, presenting a forward-looking perspective and diverse achievements in educational technology research. The content was rich and engaging, and we look forward to deeper and more proactive dialogue between the association and all participants on relevant important trends and issues in the future.
